about me

Hey everyone! I am tara and this is my first blog post. I have been wanting to start this blog for years now but have been putting it off ever since. I decided to stop over analyzing because not everything is perfect and to just go out there and do it. So this is what I am doing today, writing my first blog post. I don’t have a specific plan on what I want this website to consist of, other than my numerous passions. I do however want this website to be my own, creative self- including all of my passions: photography, traveling, vlogging, fashion, and lifestyle.

My goal is to capture all of my dreams whether its through the lens of an expensive Canon camera, or my iphone. whatever it is, I will capture it and document it. Doing this will allow me to show others my interests and views on certain subjects – hopefully getting an important message out there to the world.

Photography: I am a beginner student photographer who loves to bring my Canon EOS Rebel T5i everywhere I go, to capture the moment. Actually, how I came up with the name of this website “capturing my dreams” came from my passion and interest for captruing the moment through the lens of my camera. I am going to share my work on here in the meantime until I get a website strictly for my photography.

Videography: In addition to photography, I love making videos for fun and my own entertainment. I love to edit travel videos, cinematic films, vlogs, and other videos for my youtube channel. No, I am not professional, but I make the most out of all my cameras (canon, gopro, drone)  to create the coolest content that I will share on here.

I have had my ups and downs with technology, cameras specifically, but I am young and am learning from all of my mistakes along the way.

Youtube: I also am using youtube as another platform to get myself out there and expressing my passion on camera to people. Whether I have a small or large following, I upload creative content that I worked really hard on and am very proud of. Specifically travel vlogs, I use imovie to edit and film with my canon and iphone. I really hope you follow my journey and check out my youtube channel: Tara Isabelle I am working on uploading weekly with videos I am passionate about.

Traveling: If I had to name something I could do for the rest of my life, it would be traveling. Something about getting on an airplane and going somewhere I’ve never been, gives me so much satisfaction and joy. Whether its traveling 10 miles away or 10,000 miles away, I love going to new places and meeting locals, trying new foods, and viewing different cultures etc… After doing the calculations, I have been to about 18 countries in the 16 years I have been on this earth. I am beyond blessed to have gone to the places I have gone, and i will do blog posts soon on some of the countries I have been to – in the upcoming future. Anyways, i can go more in depth with my love and passion for traveling later.. I think you guys got the point… XD Overall, I am going to be posting travel related stuff on here, but mostly I focus on travel vlogs uploaded to youtube.

Fashion: I am your typical girl who loves to shop, dress extra, and buy cute outfits for zero occasion- but do it all on a budget. I hate spending money on overly expensive items, so I will be sharing how your wardrobe can go from a 0-10 on a banging budget!! Also, you guys get to see how I style my outfits and my ultimate fashion tips and tricks!

Other: Lastly for right now, I wanted to add that there will be a lot of random posts not specifically related to any category… partly to make this website everything and anything I want it to be, not perfect, just unique and true to myself.

– For example, I am going to be adding a lot of pictures of myself with prominent and well known people that I have had the opportunity to meet (along with my photos strictly for photography purposes)

– Also, for organizations that I volunteer at, and projects I am working on, I might at times promote whatever I am doing there in order to get a message out.

If you made it to the end of this, thank you so much for spending the time reading this- I appreciate it more than you could ever know. This is just the start and I hope you follow me on this journey. I don’t really know how to work this website, its not going to be perfect at first, but I promise you i am going to learn and improve along the way.

life through a lens

Why I live my life through a lens:

A lot of people always question why I take videos and pictures of everything, and I tell them that it is a lifestyle that I was meant to live- capturing the moment. From my love for traveling, it blows my mind how beautiful this Earth is, and why not capture the beauty that I see through my own eyes. No matter where you are, your own town or an exotic location on the other side of the world, you can always find beauty in anything around you. As much as I love traveling, my love for photography and videography taught me that it’s not always about where you physically are, it’s about where your mind is. You could be in the most exotic location ever, Thailand for example, but if you don’t have a creative mindset, the location doesn’t even matter. That is why I learned that through enough practicing, you start to develop a skill that you can use to create the best quality content, even if it’s in your own home. You don’t have to be on the other side of the world to capture good photos. It’s the little things in life that allow you to view everything in your surroundings in a new light. As much as I want to live a non-stressful and carefree life without the worry of capturing every thing i’m doing, I have come to realize that taking pictures and videos is something I am extremely passionate about—- whether it takes a lot of work or not, it is always worth it in the long run. With my passion for living life through the lens of my camera, I learned that these precious photos that I capture, will not only bring back a ton of memories, but will take me instantly back to that moment- and that, is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Pros and Cons:

Sure you can argue that you are not 100% living your experiences to the fullest because you are too focused on photographing and too busy filming it, but I think you can do both in moderation. Enjoy your surroundings and priceless moments, but at the same time, filming it will not hurt your overall experience, as long as you do it in moderation. In my opinion, the pro’s override the con’s in regards to living life with a camera always by your side. The key is doing it in moderation. I could go on about this forever, but these are just a few reasons as to why I don’t think having a camera always by your side is such a bad thing. Because it changed my life.
